Demcon is now supporting a new research project conducted by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and Dutch Cancer Society. The aim of this research is to find new, faster, and more effective methods for detecting cervical cancer.

Daarmee kan Demcon haar dienstverlening op het gebied van kennismanagement uitbreiden om klanten meer te ontzorgen. Demcon kan zich verder ontwikkelen door, naast de ontwikkeling van nieuwe producten en technologie, actief de gehele levensfase van een product te ondersteunen. In deze ondersteuning spelen technische documentatie en technische opleidingen een belangrijke rol. Tegelijkertijd behoudt Eluxis de eigen klantenkring en zal die ook verder uitbreiden.

Vibration-free cooling for undisturbed measurements of gravity waves. A consortium of Demcon kryoz, Cooll and the University of Twente will develop an advanced cooling system for the Einstein Telescope. This enormous observatory will measure gravitational waves, which Albert Einstein predicted more than 100 years ago. It may be housed beneath the hilly landscape of the Dutch-Belgian-German border area. The consortium will receive 2.6 million euros over a period of three years from the R&D scheme for the Einstein Telescope, financed by the Dutch National Growth Fund. Vibration-free cooling to very low temperatures is necessary to detect the very weak signals from space. The three parties have a lot of fundamental knowledge and industrial expertise in vibration-free cooling. They are now using this to make the measurements much more accurate, for a better understanding of extreme events deep in the universe.

Fysieke en financiële ruimte om te opereren Demcon innovatie fonds investeert in Spatium Medical, de spin-off van het Erasmus MC die een innovatieve insufflator heeft ontwikkeld. Deze pomp brengt tijdens een kijkoperatie koolzuurgas in de buikholte om de organen bloot te leggen en werkruimte voor de chirurg te creëren. De Smart Insufflator heeft unieke kenmerken die de chirurg in staat stelt om voor elke patiënt de juiste druk te kiezen. Dat geeft patiënten minder last van post-operatieve klachten en maakt het mogelijk om ook kwetsbare patiënten te opereren. Demcon life sciences & health draagt al bij aan de productontwikkeling en Demcon production staat in de startblokken voor serieproductie. Nu participeert Demcon innovatie fonds in een investeringsronde van 5 miljoen euro voor financiering van de productontwikkeling tot en met certificering. Volgens planning komt de Smart Insufflator in 2026 op de markt; voorafgaand is nog klinische evaluatie nodig.
