Biomedical research is moving into a new era. For decades, animal models have been the default route for preclinical testing and safety assessment, but their limitations are becoming increasingly apparent. Many drug candidates that showed promising efficacy and safety profiles in animal studies later failed during human clinical trials because animal models did not adequately capture human-specific biology, metabolism, or toxicity.

After successfully completing his graduation project at Demcon macawi respiratory systems, Leon von Heimendahl has officially joined the team. His thesis earned an outstanding grade of 9, marking the successful conclusion of a collaboration that started at the MEDICA trade fair.

Within the SENVIDET consortium, Demcon high-tech systems contributes its systems engineering expertise to the development of next-generation sensor technology for the Einstein Telescope. The team supports the integration and positioning of newly developed sensors into the control system that keeps the mirrors motionless.

Shortly before our vacation, we experienced a small disaster at home: our house key was stolen. Naturally, this happened in the evening, right outside our front door. A quick Google search nearly gave us another shock. Having locks replaced outside office hours is surprisingly expensive...

Demcon high-tech systems is attending the Quantum Sensing Tech Event 2026, organized by QDNL on October 14 at De Doelen in Rotterdam. The event brings together leading European companies, researchers and end-users from across the entire quantum sensing value chain.

A new apartment complex for senior citizens at Gezondheidspark in Hengelo is being built using an innovative construction method: instead of traditional bricklaying, the façade bricks are dry-stacked. This eliminates the need for mortar and joints, making it easier to reuse the bricks in the future.
