Today a decentralized electrolyser was unveiled at Groningen Airport Eelde (GAE). A demonstration model to produce, after upscaling, green hydrogen as emission-free fuel for light aircraft, drones and ground equipment at the airport in the future. This afternoon, under the watchful eye of 80 attendees, Marieke Abbink (director of New Energy Coalition) unveiled the electrolyser, a co-production of Northern producers and researchers.

Demcon Johan Sports is a participant in the European TREAT project that aims to improve the self-reliance of patients with a chronic disorder. The company will investigate whether its real-time monitoring technology for sports teams, PACER, can also be used in the healthcare sector. PACER is equipped with an ECG sensor that will be connected to electrodes integrated into a vest that patients can also wear at home for cardiac monitoring during exertion. The company will investigate whether the data can be translated reliably into information for healthcare providers and into recommendations for the patient concerning his/her behavior and lifestyle.

Rising Stars: SV Spakenburg and the Surge of Amateur Football in the Netherlands - Insights from Performance Coach Niek van Logtestijn. How come that amateur/semi-pro teams do so well against professional teams in the Dutch Cup?

Demcon Johan Sports is set to transform athlete monitoring by integrating its advanced PACER technology with video analysis. This innovative approach, in collaboration with FC Twente, University of Twente, 360SportsIntelligence, and Pro-F Professional Physiotherapy, aims to enhance injury prevention and accelerate recovery. By combining real-time GPS and heart rate data with video footage, sports teams will gain deeper insights into player performance and health, enabling more effective training and rehabilitation strategies. This groundbreaking study, which starts in 2024, promises to set new standards in sports technology and player care.

In the past, tracking the progress of players recovering from injuries posed significant challenges. Traditional monitoring systems were designed to measure the performance of entire teams, leaving individual athletes at a disadvantage. This gap in monitoring capabilities not only affected the injured players but also created difficulties for coaches who struggled to assess and manage their athletes' progress when they weren't training with the team.
